I wonder why Lahore is not one the main touristical destinations in Asia, wich is fully deserved.

Lahore…a historical city; more like a historical ruin if I were to appropriately put it. Ironically and sadly, I live in in Anarkali which is one of the innumerable pathetic places in this God forsaken city. We don’t get any water here. It’s Ramzan these days and there has been absolutely NO water in the pipeline for the last 3 days. It’s an everyday headache here. Even when there is little water, the supply gets discontinued at 10:oo AM and comes back some time around the evening. The local Water and Sanatation Authority (May God curse them with some incurable lethal disease) have listed fake phone numbers of complaint cells on Utility bills. Gas pipelines are in the same pitiful conditions. Ours got ruptured and I called emergency 119 and the line was dead…not for a day…but for the entire week.
To sum up the above random accounts I’ve had…you could say Lahore’s extents start at D.H.A, include Gulberg, Model Town and some other high-fi localities and end WAY before you reach the slums district such as the one I live in. The government has totally forgotten about these places and that it’s humans who live here.
This is what Lahore really is.

Hi there again
Nazim, yes – I’ve sent him an email which in my view would be an effort in futility. I had also tried looking up contact numbers of any relevant government officials…not much luck though. But anyway, the water supply is restored as in we now get water almost 7 hours a day instead of nothing at all…lucky us. With this miracle, I can even brush my teeth before going to the university.
There are so many other issues that people face here. If I started talking about them all, I’d end up writing a book :-\
Well, let this post (and the above) be a glimpse into the morbid and rather realistic side of our city.

Classical vocalist, Ustad Haji Latafat Hussain Khan passed away in 2005 at the age of (104). Prior to partition, he was associated with the Indian film industry as a music director, composing for a number of films in partnership with his elder brother, Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan, the teacher of renowned music director Naushad Ali. The maestro had been based in the UK for the past ten years and taken retirement from all musical activities. His final years were devoted to Islamic mysticism. Most notable amongst his disciples are the famous Qawwali group Sabri Brothers, the late Ustad Bashir Ahmed Khan, son Ali Hafeez Khan and ghazal singer Farida Rahman.
Ustad Muhmmad Ali , whose specialities are Indian Classical Music, Qawwalis and Ghazals has toured the world; recieving outstanding audiences and reviews. He has recieved many awards from local mayors and asian arts societies in England, the Press Club of Pakistan, and Buy Kala Bombay; India.

Two persons named Muhammad Akram S/o Atta Muhammad and Muhammad Ikrramm S/o Atta Muhammad. House 108 Block 2 Sector D2 Green Town Lahore are conflicting very antisocial activates.
1. They are running heavy welding machinery in a residential area for a long time. They are running a factory of hardware at house no 314- Block 2 Sector D2 Green Town Lahore.
2. They are heavy plants of paints at House no 110-Block 2 Sector D2 Green Town Lahore because of which people are suffering heavy losses in electricity. People are afraid of complaining as these are criminal minded people.
3. Some wapda persons are involved in the stealing of electricity. Many officers get MONTHLY from these persons.
4. They don’t pay Income tax.
5. They Misuse the Sui Gas.
6. They earn lots of black money by cheating in Sui Gas, Wapda Electricity & income tax department.
7. Most of the important they offend child labour also sexually abuse the innocent children.
Please take strict action against the responsible persons & treat them accordingly. Please also take strict action against wapda personals as well who are assisting these anti state activities, seal the record & factory & audit all the income to find out their fraud.
All the investigations should be carried out by higher authorities. All the affected citizens will be grateful for your kind consideration.

I am in Toronto, Canada and when I watchd the site of Sachal Studios and Raza Rumi site, I was really excited that still there are some great people like Soofi Sahib and Janab Izzat Majeed and their other team who are trying to let alive our heritage of classical/semi-classical music. When I see that our great Artists like Malika-i-Mousiqi Roshan Ara Begum, Ustad Salamat Khan, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan and so many other are no longer with us and further trend towards classical/semi-classical music is not being encouraged generally and this situation Sachal Studios are dong a great job and I can say it a Spiritual uplift as per my own faith Classical/Semi-Classical Music is the only source for Spiritual uplift. I pray to Almighty God for the people who are giving encouragement and real involvement of renowned Ustads including Ustad Nazar Hussain who whom I know since 1988 and who is such a devoted Composer in India/Pakistan whose compositions are lovable which shows the real depth of Surs . His combination of Surs and creating a joyous situation in compositions is a uniqueness of Ustad Nazar Hussain. My prayers for the management/Ustads and Ustad Nazar Hussain may bring a furtherance to the cause of all of you Aamin.

Why so much loadshedding in Lahore. Its more than 12 hours per day. Where as Islamabad, Karachi, Jehlum and rest of all other cities are just having minimal loadshedding of just 2 hours.
So why this discrimination against Lahoris? Is it some sort of conspiracy against Lahoris to oppress them, to create hurdles in their development and progress or what else?? Why Lahoris have to suffer and bear this menace for so long? Its so disturbing. Does it means to create frustration among Lahoris so that they remain stressed whole day?
Does Lahoris dont have equal rights as all other citizens of Pakistan? Our constituition provides us equal rights then why this discrimination? Is it because Lahoris are bearing all this peacefully? They are not protesting and damaging or burning public or private property? They are not attacking WAPDA offices?
Now the limit of tolerance has been crossed. Wake up Laahoris!! Demand your rights!!

Director Public Instruction Secondary Education Punjab vide his letter No.1117/AD(C-1) Dated 24.01.2008 invited promotion cases from Secondary School Teachers for their promotion as Subject Specialist in different subjects including the subject of Industrial Arts. We submitted our cases well within time for promotion as Subject Specialist Industrial Arts/Art and craft.
In january 2009 DPC meeting was conducted. Subject Specialists in all other subjects were promoted but cases for promotion as Subject Specialist Industrial Arts/Art and Craft were not included in DPC meeting. Posts of Subject Specialist Industrial Arts/Art and Craft are lying vacant in Government Comprehensive Boys Schools and Government Elementary Teachers Training Colleges (Male) in Punjab.
An Appeal in this regard has been sent to The Secretary Education Schools Punjab vide Registered Mail No.852 Dated. 03.02.2009 but still no decision has been made.
