LAHORE: A group of Suha Bazaar goldsmiths on Wednesday claimed to have made the world’s biggest ring.
‘Seven goldsmiths toiled for 577 days to create 50 x 57 inches ‘The Global Peace Ring’, weighing 74 kilograms,’ Amin Saleem said at a news conference at the Lahore Press Club.
‘The ring bears flags of 120 countries and its prominent white colour is a symbol of peace. It has a 4.650 gram crystal, while 80 per cent of the ring’s mass has been prepared manually by Salahuddin Saleem, Faisal Ashfaq, Qamar Siddiq, Waseem Muhammad Ali, Imran Saleem and Kaleem Saleem,’ he said.
He demanded the ring should be enlisted in the Guiness Book of World Record as it had become the biggest made so far. Prior to this a Saudi Arabia company had made the world’s biggest ring which weighed 64 kilograms, he said.
